plan 9 from syracuse
I haven't even technically made it back to Phoenix, I'm in Winslow right now, but wanted to post this basically because I was so excited about it. An old shipmate (Coast Guard friend) of mine is running across the country in order to continue his lifelong dream to make movies. He is running from Syracuse, NY to Hollywood, CA and his current progress has him outside of Grants, NM headed toward the Grand Canyon State. I had the chance to stop and talk to Ryan along I-40 in New Mexico and he seemed to be doing great, it was so very nice to see him in the flesh again. I'm extremely impressed by his upbeat mood and that he is able to keep running day after day. 
Anyway I just wanted to post a picture and give everyone a link to his blog, his description of events are much more inspiring than anything I could write. I'm planning on heading up to run with him this coming weekend which should be some where in the Flagstaff area if any of you folks would like to go along that would be fantastic. I'll post tons of photos and such of the Anti-Utah tour in the near future. Until then enjoy the interweb.

That's AWESOME that you got to meet up with Dacko! And even cooler that you'll be able to run with him soon. Even though I couldn't probably run for long, I wish I was there with you guys.
...I'm good at handing out drinks to runners while they run though...
that's so cool! i don't even know him, but i feel so happy for you to say that he is in good spirits. :) he is so inspiring!
