a date which will live in infamy

My sympathies to everyone who lost a loved one on, or in response to the this tragic day, but I hope you all would remember that surrendering your opinion, rights, privacy, or right to protest in the name of security, does not help this country's security, it fleeces you of your freedom.

Very true.

Name a single individual in America who has has been forced to "surrender" their opinion on *anything*, or has been denied the right to protest.

We are in a generations-long war with Islamic fascism. A war started by a savage, barbaric enemy who's ideology calls for the murder of innocents who don't believe in their savage 7th Century philosophies. An enemy for whom women are slaves, gays are to be murdered, children are to be used as human shields, and who have nothing but utter and total contempt for YOU.

You are obviously a product of the modern American educational system, as your lack of critical reasoning skills, coupled with your ignorance of both history and spelling ("a date which will live in emphamy"!) prove.

Learn some history instead of the idiotic cant of the Hate America First crowd.

While you are right on several points, I am a product of modern American education system, much like yourself I’m sure. Did we really have a choice? Yes, my spelling is poor to say the least, but I think that is really the smaller issue at hand. I have to admit, in reading your comment I almost didn’t respond for a few simple reason. One, you most likely will never return to my blog to respond, two, I’m not sure you will ever honestly consider my opinion, and lastly I might miss spell something (is that how you spell “miss spell” or is it “misspell”)

To the points, “Name a single individual in America who “has has” (repeated word, that’s five points off) been forced to "surrender" their opinion on *anything*, or has been denied the right to protest.” Lets start with the women’s opinion that she should be able to choose, the opinion that I have the right to be married if I’m gay, the opinion that I want to be a conscience objector if I don’t agree, the opinion that I have the right to protest at the White House, not in a corral 3 blocks away, the right to do scientific research using method in my opinion are ethical, or my opinion that I have the right to a lawyer and a trial if I’m detained. (Sorry about the run-on sentence) I think that is a good start on anything. I noticed you didn’t touch on privacy so I guess we are in agreement there, that is nice to hear. I don’t condone the every growing opinion of “if your not with us you’re against us” that is used to manipulate American citizens and other countries, but that is just my opinion.

“We are in a generations-long war with Islamic fascism.” I am not at war with anyone, and I doubt you are either, but there is a war going on over something, but for once I don’t believe the battle is between religions, its over resources, contracts, money, and power.

“Savage, barbaric enemy who's ideology calls for the murder of innocents.” So what makes our innocent more holy than theirs? Why are their neighbors, friends, and family referred to as collateral damage in our fight against them, while the deaths of our countrymen are barbaric? Is a suicide bomber more barbaric than a man who sends a bombing mission over a city of innocent people?

“An enemy for whom women are slaves, gays are to be murdered, children are to be used as human shields, and who have nothing but utter and total contempt for YOU.” You say these things like I’m running billboard ads in support of murder, rape, and molestation. I don’t condone this behavior, its wrong and horrid, but again why should an entire nation(s) pay the price for so few. Should I kill my godmother because she ran a store that Ted Kaczynski shopped at? She supported a terrorist, we should bomb her house and while were at it bomb the neighbors too. That is what we are doing, we are killing people that want nothing more than to have peaceful lives and happily grow old with their families. We do this to find a radical few, we could just as easily do the same thing right here in America.

“Learn some history instead of the idiotic cant of the Hate America First crowd.” While I’ll admit I’m no historical scholar, I cannot find one occasion in history where war, occupation, and the forcing of culture upon another has brought peace and happiness to both the victory and the defeated. I don’t hate America, I hate what America is doing to itself. The ideals America is suppose to stand for, I do truly believe in, but the erosion of our rights and eschewing of the truth to meet the needs of the few is not a path I wish to follow.

I’d hope that you would respond again, I welcome your participation.

On another note, due to the amazingly low traffic my page generates I was able to pinpoint the one person who visited my page on the 29th. How did they find me? They searched "emphamy".

To the "anonymous" poster...

Bravo on regurgitating partisan political rhetoric that has been spouted for the last 6 years.

It takes alot of guts to do a anonymous comment on some guys blog and blast him for having a opinion that differs from your own.

Oh and sorry for the poor grammar, I don't have a form to cut, copy, and paste from.
